Top chefs from across the city will be attending the Ottawa Humane Society Summer Garden Party this Sunday, and Algonquin College will be well represented!
Chef Patrick Kostiw and two student volunteers will be serving up strawberries marinated in port wine with orange pearls and ginger foam, and Chicken Mousseline with Asian Slaw served in a Chinese spoon. Chef Kostiw has represented the College for the last few years at this event in honour of one of his former mentors. “Many of us here at the College had worked with Kurt Wadele and held him in very high regard as a chef and mentor. For this reason it is a pleasure to be involved with this fundraiser for the Ottawa Humane Society that celebrates the memory of Kurt’s garden party fundraisers he held at his home. For the students who did not have the chance to know Kurt they receive great exposure to the top chefs of Ottawa and can also have the chance to show off their skills.”
It’s not too late to get your tickets – visit the Ottawa Humane Society’s website to learn more.

Hi Maria,
The event was yesterday (Sunday, August 26) so it is unfortunately over. But certainly it is an event that is open to the ticket-buying public so check back on next year’s or stay tuned for more events featuring our amazing School of Hospitality & Tourism students!
