This post comes to us from Professor Jim Neubauer about this year’s Ontario College Marketing Competition and their strong results at the recent competition!
The Algonquin College School of Business’ 14 member Ontario College Marketing Competition (OCMC) student team, along with some of their coaches, traveled to Windsor, Ontario on November 21 and 22 to face off against the best of the best from 12 other colleges across Ontario in a 10 event Marketing Competition.
For more than three decades, Ontario colleges’ business students have been taking part in a unique skills competition that tests their marketing proficiency in a series of exercises that emulate real-world business challenges.
Algonquin College once again fielded both a professional and competitive team. As a result – the team placed in the top 5 in 4 of the 10 events.
The entire elite Algonquin College OCMC team:
AJ Abraham / Janice Ricketts-Aiken – Marketing
Martin Cole / Patrick Therrien – International Marketing
Jennifer Courville – Job Interview – 4th place
Jennifer Courville / Marc Nordemann-Keller – Direct Marketing – 5th place
Trevor Cull / Jessie Mahon – Retail Marketing
Mathieu Denis / Casandra Lafontaine – Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC)
Daniel Georges / David Wilson – Entrepreneurship
Kyle Kirkpatrick / Alicia Puritt – Sales Account Management - 4th place
Patrick Therrien – Sales Presentation
On behalf of the Algonquin OCMC faculty and coaches – congratulations to the entire team of 14 students who invested countless hours each week over-and-above their already heavy course load to read, learn and practice trying to be the best they could be and represent Algonquin College proudly.
Finally, the OCMC team would like to thank all their sponsors, Bradleys Commercial Insurance, Askari Solutions Inc., Clublink, the Algonquin Students’ Association, the Algonquin College School of Business, ZCard, Ernest and Young, TEKSystems and Nelson, for their support to make this trip possible.
