The flash mob dance involved approximately 150 employees from all levels and departments including Deans, Academic Chairs, Directors, managers, and support staff. Events Manager Chris Brennan says the inspiration for the flash mob came when she heard “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. “The song came on at the Christmas party and everyone started dancing!” she says.
The PR team began recruiting participants who were sworn to secrecy in January, and practices began mid-March. Staff met at top-secret Friday afternoon practices with a dance teacher for two months, and developed incredible camaraderie. They were enthusiastic, engaged, motivated, and many commented on how the practices were rejuvenating and they wished they could continue all year long.
Staff members in the audience were very surprised, entertained and uplifted. Watch the flash mob dance below!
